Comfort Comes When Called

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Sadie is a little dog with a big job! She makes people feel better. Sadie is a therapy dog. She comes to the hospitals at Lehigh Valley Health Network and puts smiles on faces. Whether she is wagging playfully to the delight of a child in our pediatric department or curling into the hug of a terminally ill man in hospice, Sadie makes everyone forget their troubles for a few minutes. That’s her job and she does it well!

Recently, the daughter of a man who had passed away contacted us through Facebook and asked if we could get a photo of the little white dog who visited with her and her dad while he was in the hospital last fall. That was the last visit she had with him and she explained that the little dog had brought them both so much comfort. Of course Sadie was more than willing to fulfill the request! That is what she does…she’s a therapy dog.
