Our Diversity

We are committed to meeting the cultural values, beliefs and needs of our patient population

Our nation as a whole, and our Lehigh Valley community in particular, is becoming more racially and ethnically diverse. As the region's largest health care organization, Lehigh Valley Health Network is responsible for ensuring its services meet the cultural values, beliefs and needs of its patient population.

Our health network is proud to be a regional and national leader in delivering culturally competent care. On this website, you'll learn how we’re accomplishing this. We actively collect patient race and ethnicity data and review it to address and correct any potential differences in care. We have a team of 120 interpreters specially educated in medical interpretation to help people of all languages understand their care. We also spread the word about our diversity through our various publications, both in our health network and around our community.

By being culturally responsive, we maintain the delivery of high-quality health services and potentially reduce health differences in our community.
