Philosophy of care

My philosophy is that health is more than merely the absence of disease. A physician's role is to help his/her patients achieve their fullest potential through the application of evidence-based clinical practices, individually tailored and rendered in a caring, compassionate manner.

Why I entered medicine

I've always had an interest in the human condition and all of its facets. While completing my undergraduate studies in psychology and philosophy, I also desired to gain an understanding of human biology. During this time, I became a chiropractic patient and experienced first-hand the benefits of chiropractic health care. I also began to appreciate the skill and dexterity involved in analysis and therapy. What attracted me intellectually to chiropractic was its holistic orientation and its emphasis on the nervous system in maintaining and restoring health. As I delved further into the practical applications of chiropractic practice, I recognized a direct application of one of the basic principles of biology-the structure governs function. I saw in chiropractic an opportunity to provide a service to others through a science and art that is intellectually stimulating, yet physically and artistically demanding in its application, and personally gratifying in its results.

Personal interests

I am an avid Philadelphia sports fan and closely follow the Flyers, Phillies and Eagles. I greatly enjoy listening to music of various genres. I like to hike and to camp when I can. I read, but not as much as I'd like to. I spend as much time as I can with my five grandsons, doing whatever it is we can get into together.
