Introducing the Center for Orthopedic Medicine in West Allentown
In early February, Lehigh Valley Health Network opened the Center for Orthopedic Medicine at LVHN–Tilghman in West Allentown. Located in the former Westfield Hospital, the location is LVHN’s first dedicated orthopedic medicine campus.
ExpressCARE Locations Offer Extended Hours
If your patients need care after hours, LVHN has it covered with extended hours at our ExpressCARE locations (formerly walk-in care). LVHN can provide care for common illnesses and minor injuries such as but not limited to: sprains/strains, cuts/lacerations, poison ivy/rashes, seasonal allergies, flu symptoms, bronchitis, ear infections, sore throat and fever. In addition, X-ray services are available during ExpressCARE hours at some locations.
Partnerships Will Shape the Future
Allspire Health Partners
To address quality care, population health management, best practices and medical research in the Northeast, LVHN joined with six other health systems to form AllSpire Health Partners. This consortium includes LVHN, Atlantic Health System in Morristown, N.J.; Hackensack University Health Network in Hackensack, N.J.; Lancaster General Health in Lancaster, Pa.; Meridian Health in Neptune, N.J.; Reading Health System in Reading, Pa.; and WellSpan Health in York, Pa.
Greater Hazleton Health Alliance
On Jan. 1, LVHN and the Greater Hazleton Health Alliance (GHHA) officially merged. As a result, Hazleton General Hospital is now Lehigh Valley Hospital–Hazleton.
Tomosynthesis for Breast Cancer Screening
Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) now offers optional tomosynthesis along with traditional mammography. Sometimes called 3-D mammography, tomosynthesis allows the breast to be viewed as several thin slices that run through the entire thickness of the breast from one skin surface to the other.
