Continuing Education Support for Students
From scholarships to internships, we have the resources to help you reach your career goals
Nursing Scholarships
Through the generosity of the Harvey L. Farr and Elsa K. Farr Health Care Trust Fund, we offer scholarship money to candidates pursuing their associate’s or bachelor’s degree who commit to joining our team after graduation. If you are a second-year student in a two-year, full-time registered nursing program, you could be eligible for one of these scholarships which total $3,000. If you’re a senior enrolled in a four-year nursing program, you could receive a total of $5,000 in scholarship money and up to $6,000 if you attend Cedar Crest College or DeSales University. We currently have NO scholarships available for nursing students who will be graduating in 2011. Please contact Valerie Kocher at 610-402-1724 for information.
How you can apply:
- Complete a scholarship application.
- Supply two clinical references.
- Submit a copy of your current transcript.
- Submit a one-page essay describing why you deserve a scholarship award. Direct your comments toward your motivation, leadership and academic accomplishments. Describe special talents and special, creative or challenging activities that you have initiated.
Paid Internships
As a graduate nurse, you might be concerned about making the transition from student to professional. Our paid internship program which includes benefits prepares new or recently licensed nurses for employment with us. It is our hope that the program will enhance your clinical competency and help build your confidence through educational activities and supervised clinical experience.
Requirements for participating in one of our internship opportunities include:
- New or recent graduate of accredited nursing program
- Current GPA and/or transcript
- Two letters of reference from recent clinical instructors
