Summer 2012 Research Scholar Program Information

Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is pleased to announce the Summer 2012 Research Scholar Program. This year's program will run for 8 weeks, beginning June 11, 2012 and ending  July 27, 2012.

Research Scholars will gain educational and professional experience within their departments under the supervision of a mentor a maximum of 30 hours per week for the duration of the 8 week program. Students who successfully complete the requirements of the program will be offered stipends of $1500 to facilitate their participation. All students who wish to apply for the Research Scholar Program must be current undergraduates and have completed a minimum of one year of undergraduate study (please see application for further eligibility details).

Students selected for a Summer 2012 Research Scholar position will be required to:

• undergo criminal background clearance(s)
• submit proof of two current, negative TB skin tests and proof of vaccinations (health certification),
• attend the mandatory orientation,
• be available to meet with their mentor on a weekly basis,
• complete a two-page summary report and evaluations of their position and research specifically, and of the Research Scholar program in general.

In addition, the hosting department may have additional and/or more specific requirements.
