Stenting and Endovascular Coiling

In the case of broad-based aneurysms, a stent (wire mesh tube) is first placed across the aneurysm neck to serve as a scaffold for the coils (called stent-assisted coiling), which physicians can pack into an aneurysm to prevent it from rupturing and bleeding into the brain.
