Our trauma center is the region’s largest and most experienced, caring for both adults and children
Lehigh Valley Health Network is home to the region's largest and most experienced Level I Trauma Center for adults, caring for about 4,500 trauma patients every year. Our Trauma Center also is accredited as Level II for pediatrics – the highest level of trauma care for children.
Special features of our trauma care for children include the region’s only pediatric intensive care unit, a Regional Burn Center caring for adults and children, the region’s only pediatric surgeons, children’s trauma rehabilitation programs and a child life program to help children and families feel comfortable at the hospital.
We also are home to a first-of-its-kind geriatric program specializing in trauma care for older adults. This means Lehigh Valley Health Network cares for all kinds of traumas—from small to the most serious—for all ages. We do it more times every day than any other trauma center in the region. And we do it with experience and compassion, using the latest advances in medicine and technology.
