Research Study of New Alzheimer’s Drug
Neurologist Lorraine Spikol, M.D. is hopeful that the research study she is directing at Lehigh Valley Health Network will lead to a major breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. The drug, Bapineuzamab, shows promise of neutralizing the specific protein that destroys brain cells. If your elder shows signs of dementia, bring him or her in for evaluation by a neurologist. Early diagnosis is important, especially if your loved one is still competent enough to be involved in decisions about the future.
