LVHN Makes Best Place to Work List

LVHN one of only five healthcare organizations in Pennsylvania to make the list

Lehigh Valley, Pa. (Nov. 4, 2008) – Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) has been recognized on Modern Healthcare’s inaugaural list of 100 “Best Places to Work in Healthcare.”

Almost 240 healthcare employers participated in this first-ever healthcare workplace listing. The program collected information from both the employer and employees and was open to all companies (providers, suppliers, payers, associations, etc.) with at least 25 employees.

Employers completed a survey detailing company policies, practices, benefits and demographics. Employees were asked an in-depth set of questions that resulted in an analysis in 8 core areas: leadership and planning, culture and communications, role satisfaction, working environment, relationship with supervisor, training and development, pay and benefits and overall satisfaction.

Out of the 100 healthcare companies to make the list, five hospitals in Pa. made the list, with LVHN being ranked at 91.

In addition to the Modern Healthcare “Best Places to Work” listing, LVHN also has been recognized among the nation’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” by FORTUNE magazine for both 2007 and 2008. LVHHN was the only Pennsylvania-based employer recognized for 2008.
