LVHN is not part of the healthy story project.
How do you protect the integrity of the medical record:
- track point and click errors
- track template errors
- track who has changed original information
There is an audit that is run continuously to track the integrity of the record. In addition, the leadership of the practices also reviews the quality and use of the record.
Is the federal government providing funds for electronic records?
The Federal government has funds that are available during the upcoming 4 years to practices and health systems that meet certain requirements. Those requirements may be a stretch for some systems.
Would it make sense to have a federal standard?
It would make good clinical sense to have one standard. However, the reality is that it will take a lot of deliberation and time to occur.
