She Survived a Brain Tumor
Linda Stevens of Stroudsburg, Pa., returned home three days after surgery
While helping holiday shoppers last year at the jewelry store where she worked, Linda Stevens suffered a seizure. A co-worker immediately called 9-1-1. Paramedics rushed Stevens, 60, of Stroudsburg, Pa., to Pocono Medical Center. There, a CT scan showed she had a brain tumor. She was sent to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest for surgery.
Two days after Christmas, neurosurgeon Mark Li, M.D., of Lehigh Valley Health Network, successfully removed Stevens’ benign tumor using an advanced neurosurgery technique that didn’t even require she shave her head. Three days later, she returned home, and in April traveled to Disney with her five grandchildren. “I’m enjoying life again—working, solving puzzles and traveling,” Stevens says.
