Survivorship
We have a wide variety of programs available for cancer survivors. For example, the Survivor PLACE program at Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Cancer Center has been enhanced over the past two years to expand services that help patients who have undergone treatment for cancer to live a healthy life. This includes preventing, detecting and treating complications from cancer treatment. Survivorship care is provided by a team experienced in the care of people with cancer. The team includes a nurse practitioner, registered nurse, social worker, registered dietician and rehabilitation therapist. Patient resources include counseling, nutrition services, sexual health, cancer risk and genetic assessment, physical rehabilitation and transitional loss and life change services. Multodisciplinary Clinics
Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Cancer Center has enhanced its Breast and Lung Multidisciplinary Clinic’s by expanding the treatment team and scope of care. Both clinics have expanded their care teams from physicians to also include skilled providers in rehabilitation, social work, counseling, financial counseling, and clinical trials. Additionally, the Thoracic Cancer Multidisciplinary Clinic has expanded its scope of care from lung to also include esophageal and other cancers of the chest. Call 610-402-CARE.

Nurse Navigators
In 2011, nurse navigation services were made available in Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Cancer Center. The oncology nurse navigators provide a single point of contact for cancer patients, their family members, caregivers, and referring physicians to access cancer care services. Nurse navigators are assigned to patients when they learn they have cancer to help them navigate their cancer care, from diagnosis to treatment. Nurse navigators provide all types of support to patients from emotional support to guidance in decision making regarding choices in care. At this time we are able to offer nurse navigation services to breast and lung cancer patients. We also strive to provide services for all Spanish speaking patients diagnosed with or suspected of having any type of cancer. Call 610-402-CARE.
