Mr. Demopoulos is Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer for Lehigh Valley Physician Group (LVPG). In his current role, Mr. Demopoulos provides strategic direction for LVPG. He is responsible for the development of innovative solutions that are then translated into strategic operations executed to deliver high performance results for the group practice.

As an LVPG executive leader, Mr. Demopoulos defines and contributes to the reimagination of our practices. He previously held various practice leadership positions working with almost 1,000 physicians with the Greater Baltimore Medical Associates (an affiliate partner of Johns Hopkins Hospital), WellSpan Health, and OrthoMaryland.

Mr. Demopoulos served the first 18 years of his career in leadership roles with health systems in New York City and its metropolitan area. He held key positions at two of the nation’s largest and most highly ranked health systems, New York University Medical Center and the North-Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System (now Northwell Health, New York’s largest health care system).

During his tenure with those systems in director, chief administrative officer and chief operating officer roles for large physician practices, his leadership scope ranged from cancer programs to surgical service lines, musculoskeletal medicine, the neurosciences as well as medicine specialties and subspecialties.

Mr. Demopoulos also led the State University of New York’s (SUNY) flagship academic medical centers’ specialty practices for the surgical service lines ranging from trauma to transplant programs. He’s worked closely with management structures in these practices with strong physician and quality leaders. In recent years, he’s also acted as a consultant with the Studer Group as national physician service line leader, working with group practices across the U.S. on bundled content solutions to help drive their continuous improvement and contain costs.

Additionally, Mr. Demopoulos has been on the leading edge of current health care initiatives, being closely involved with practices and systems that have served as test locations for health care reform. He also has been instrumental in the development of Medicare Shared Savings ACOs and patient-centered medical homes.

Mr. Demopoulos is also considered a national expert in the fields of patient access and evolving care delivery models within group practices, having delivered more than 20 national presentations during his LVHN tenure on these topics.
