Hello, my name is Louisa, and I am originally from Accra, Ghana, but I transplanted to Chapel Hill, N.C. I attended the University of North Carolina in Greensboro and Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. My career interests include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, family planning, social determinants of health and global health.

I love nature and all the parks and trails around the area. I plan to live downtown where there is a bustling art and music scene. I also like the proximity to New York and Philadelphia. The people in the Lehigh Valley are very nice and friendly.

I chose this program because of the people and my warm sense of connection to them. I liked that everyone seems really invested in your success and is very welcoming. I look forward to working with attendings from diverse educational backgrounds, which would be a good environment for collaborative learning.

Outside of work, I am interested in trying new foods, spoken-word poetry, music, arts and creative projects. I used to be a slam poet and enjoy knitting and crocheting.
