Surgical Critical Care Fellowship Curriculum

You will spend nine months caring for patients in the trauma, general, central nervous system and special care units. A one-month rotation in the burn unit is provided. Your schedule in the remaining two months will be customized to assist you in meeting your professional goals. Experience in trauma unit operations, including communication with pre-hospital personnel and formulating triage plans, will be provided. The surgical critical fellow has the opportunity to act in a supervisory role, overseeing the initial management of the trauma patient. Backup will be provided at all times by one of the in-house trauma/critical care surgeons.
