Are all positions posted on the website?

Yes, all open positions at LVHN are posted on the http://www.lvhn.org/careers website.  

What if I do not meet the minimum requirements of the position?

If you submit an application for a position and do not meet the meet the minimum requirements, your application will not move forward. We encourage you to review the minimum requirements on each position before applying. Applicants will only be considered qualified if the minimum requirements are met.

What if I don’t remember my User ID or password?

For your convenience, you can request your log on in formation by signing on to http://www.lvhn.org/careers, clicking search all jobs and then clicking the ‘log in now’ button (under the search box), and then click the ‘forgot username/password’ link. Please write down your security question and answer. You will need this if you forget your user id or password.

What if I get an error message that reads “Username is too short, must be a min of 5 characters”?

Please contact support@healthcaresource.com and a new username and/or password will be emailed to you within 24 hours of your request.

What information is required on the application?

Please have the following information accessible: employment information (dates of employment, employer name, address and phone number, and supervisor name), education information (degree and date of completion), three (3) professional references (co-worker, supervisor, colleague, professor), and a copy of your resume to copy and paste or to upload (Microsoft Word) into the application.

How do I apply for a position with LVHN?

  • Log on to http://www.lvhn.org/careers and click on ‘search jobs’
  • You can search all open positions or positions by category
  • To be considered for a position, you must meet the minimum requirements listed in posting. If you do not meet the minimum requirements, the application will not be considered.
  • When you have identified a job that you are interested in and you meet the minimum requirements, click on the ‘click here to apply on line’ link. You will be prompted to create a career profile and begin the application. Please write down your security question and answer. You will be asked for this information if you forget your user id or password.
  • Remember to save often during the application process.
  • Following the completion of the application, you will be asked to complete the HSA behavioral survey. This survey must be completed for your application to move forward in the screening process.
  • Please allow approximately 40 minutes to complete the application and behavioral survey. After you submit the application, you will receive an email notification from HealthCare Source indicating that your application has been received. The application status will also be visible in your careers profile.

Why am I being asked questions prior to starting an application?

These are pre-qualifying questions that validate an applicant meets the minimum requirements for the position. If you do not meet the minimum requirements for the position, you will be unable to complete the application for that position.

What if I did not complete the HSA survey after submitting my application?

Your application will not move forward in the screening process until the survey is complete. The survey is required to be completed once within a three (3) year period. If you have completed the survey within the past three (3) years, you do not need to complete it again.

How do I re-access the HSA survey?

Please complete the online survey by logging onto https://hsa.healthcaresource.com/survey

Username = lvh

How can I confirm receipt of my application?

For your convenience, the status of your application(s) can be viewed by signing on to http://www.lvhn.org/careers; clicking on career opportunities; search all jobs; and then clicking the "Log In Now" link at the bottom of the page to access your applicant self-service features.

After I submit my application, what happens next?

Your application will be reviewed by a Senior Recruitment Specialist within two business days. Applicants who possess both the minimum requirements and preferred qualifications (if applicable) will receive priority consideration. If you are selected for an interview, the hiring manager will contact you directly by phone or email within 30 days of your application. You can continue to check the status of your application(s) by logging into your career profile. Due to the high volume of applications, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. 

How will I be contacted?

If the Hiring Manager is interested in your application, you will be contacted either by phone or email. The status of your application(s) can be viewed by signing on to http://www.lvhn.org/careers; clicking on career opportunities; search all jobs; and then click the "Log In Now" link at the bottom of the page to access your applicant self-service features.

How can I update my application?

You can update your application when you apply for each new position. You cannot update an application after it has been submitted for a position.

If I submit one application, will I be considered for multiple positions?

You must apply for each position individually and you can only apply once for each position.    

Must I continually check the website for new positions?

You may set up a job search agent in your career profile. With Job Agents, you can specify certain criteria relating to jobs of interest. You will be notified when jobs meeting these criteria are posted. You must submit an application individually for each position to be considered.  

Can I drop off or email my resume?

LVHN only accepts applications submitted through the applicant tracking system. Resumes are not considered applications. If you do not have access to a home computer, you can apply at the 2100 Mack Blvd, Allentown office or inquire at a public library. If you apply at 2100 Mack, you will not be able to copy and paste or upload your resume. PA Careerlink also has computers accessible for job seekers.   

What if I am unable to complete or submit my application because the application times out or will not update?

We recommend using the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer version 10 or above. Some older applications are not compatible with the system.

Are there pre-employment requirements?

Yes, employment offers are contingent upon successfully meeting all HR requirements including but not limited to criminal back ground checks, child abuse clearances, education verification, employment verification, professional references, a physical, drug and alcohol screening, nicotine screening, FBI fingerprinting, license verification, etc. Influenza vaccination is required for all colleagues with patient contact unless medically contraindicated or due to a bona fide religious belief or practice, and is strongly encouraged for all colleagues.

What benefits are available with LVHN?

LVHN offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision coverage. Detailed benefits information is provided at the time of an employment offer. Benefits are subject to change at any time. A smoking surcharge is assessed to the benefits premiums. We offer an opportunity to learn more about smoking cessation programs.

If I smoke, will this prohibit employment with LVHN?

Not at this time. To provide a fair and consistent screening process, LVHN tests all newly hired employees for nicotine and nicotine metabolites at the time of the pre-placement physical assessment to verify their response to the nicotine use question in the pre-placement medical form.  The use of nicotine is not an automatic disqualifier of employment with LVHN.  A smoking surcharge is assessed to the benefits premiums. We offer an opportunity to learn more about smoking cessation programs.

What is LVHN’s standard regarding smoking at its facilities?

Consistent with our mission to improve the health of our community, and in response to increasing evidence of health and safety risks associated with tobacco use and exposure to second-hand smoke, smoking and all tobacco use is prohibited in all hospitals buildings owned, leased, or rented by LVHN. This applies to both employees and members of the public.
