In the Department of Community Health, the Lehigh Valley Community Hub is one of the tools that is core to our work around community innovation. In addition to leveraging the hub for Lehigh Valley Health Network’s Community Health Needs Assessment, the Department of Community Health also is engaged in extensive work using Community Commons to facilitate cross-sector data sharing.

Lehigh Valley Community Hub is a tool that can help support leaders working toward community change with a focus on cross-sector data-driven collaboration. There are sub-sections of the hub that highlight the work occurring around addressing social determinants of health and community-based data collection efforts, such as the Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley Neighborhood Survey.

What is the goal of Lehigh Valley Community Hub?

The intent is to encourage the sharing of data and use data to effect change throughout the lifespan of an initiative. The goal of Lehigh Valley Community Hub is to expand the capacity of community partners in the Lehigh Valley to make data-informed and data-driven decisions using population-level health indicators. We support place-based, cross-sector collaborations that address complex social issues by turning data into meaningful information that can inform strategic learning and drive decision-making. In the end, we hope to increase the impact of those working toward healthy, equitable, and sustainable community in Allentown and the Lehigh Valley through these collaborative efforts.
