About Dr. Brown

Philosophy of care

As a neuropathologist my primary role is in the diagnosis of diseases of the nervous system from brain tumors to muscular dystrophy. Making accurate and timely diagnoses will be the foundation of managing a patient's illness.

Why I entered medicine

Growing up the child of a teacher, education was always a big part of my life. I was also always fascinated by the human body, how it works, why things go wrong, and how can we fix it. The field of pathology was a natural fit for me. Pathology is the study of disease. Our diagnoses help treating physicians appropriately manage their patients. We help identify what is wrong and educate doctors and their patients along the way.

Community involvement

I serve on the advisory board for Lehigh Valley United (LVU), a local 501c3 Soccer organization. Through our United Gives Back program we are able to impact our surrounding community. Players at LVU are taught leadership skills and an attitude of hard work. This in combination with empathy for others and community awareness breeds a very real sense of philanthropic endeavor at the club. LVU has made a huge impact on the community, which has helped teach our players their duty to give back - through the Haiti relief fund in partnership with UNICEF, Miller blood drive, Soccer Without Borders equipment drive, Reading Across America, Central Elementary Saturday Scholars, Allentown Youth Soccer Coaching Clinics and programming to name a few. As with our team and teammates, we also have a responsibility to the world around us. The same attitudes we take to the field, we bring to the community. Building not only an athletic foundation, but a foundation of character that transcends the soccer field into the community is a core principle at LVU.
