About Dr. Thompson

Philosophy of care

My main focus is on promoting health and preventing disease to help each of my patients achieve their optimal level of wellness. I love getting to know each patient and developing a meaningful relationship that allows us to work together on a plan that best addresses their current health issues and improves their overall health.

Why I entered medicine

I’ve been interested in medicine since I was in high school. My parents inspired me to choose a career that would help people and let me give back to the community. Medicine seemed like a perfect fit. My father is a family doctor, and I realized early on the amazing opportunity that lies in family medicine and caring for patients. I admired the relationships and trust that builds between patients and their primary care doctor, and I felt there was no better fit for me than family medicine.

Community involvement

As a member of the Jim Thorpers Bike Team, I participate every year in the Tour de Shore charity bike ride from Philadelphia to Atlantic City. The event raises money for families of fallen first responders and several children’s charities, and it allows me to give back to those who sacrifice so much to keep our communities safe.

Personal interests

I love hanging out with my family and truly value our time together. I also enjoy traveling and experiencing new places and cultures. I spend as much time outdoors as I can. I run a couple times a week and recently trained for a half-marathon. In addition, I do a lot of road biking. I believe in practicing what I preach about health, and these activities help keep me both physically and mentally in shape. Growing up, I was also an avid dancer, mostly ballet and jazz dance. I competed in high school and was on the Villanova dance team in college. I don’t have as much time these days to hit the dance floor, but I still take an occasional class and love going to the ballet.

Ratings and Reviews

About Our Ratings and Reviews

About our Survey

Our physicians and advanced practice clinicians (CRNPs and PA-Cs) are among the nation's best. That's why we show you patient satisfaction ratings and comments so you can read about and get to know our providers through the eyes of their patients.

To ensure our ratings and comments come only from verified patients, we work with NRC Health, a third-party organization. NRC Health sends patient satisfaction surveys on LVPG's behalf following an office visit or procedure. They ask patients about their impression of the health care provider and the doctor's or advanced practice clinician's communication skills.

What is included in the star rating?

Star ratings are based on a scale of 1-5 stars, 5 being the best. The rating includes responses to these provider-related questions:

  1. Physician Communication Questions
    1. Did this provider give you enough information about your health and treatment?
    2. Did this provider give you easy to understand information about your health questions and concerns?
    3. Did this provider listen carefully to you?
    4. Did this provider seem to know your medical history?
    5. Did you trust this provider with your care?
  2. Overall Provider Rating Question
    1. Using any number from 0 to 10, where 0 is the worst provider possible and 10 is the best provider possible, what number would you use to rate this provider?

Why don't all doctors or advanced practice clinicians have a rating?

In order to have enough data to measure and compare, a health care provider must have at least 30 completed patient satisfaction surveys. Surveys are included for a period of 12 months from submission.
