About Dr. Asif
Philosophy of care
My philosophy of medicine is treating you by gathering a good history and not underestimating the biological part of your bio-psycho-social profile. It is not uncommon for some psychiatric conditions and symptoms to be related to those underlying medical conditions which, if treated, will result in significant long-lasting improvement. For instance, a patient with signs and symptoms of dementia could have Alzheimer’s disease, or he could simply have a treatable vitamin B12 deficiency or thyroid problem.
Why I entered medicine
I chose this profession because it has a direct impact on improving the lives of others, and it is a highly respected profession. Seeing others improve and return to their functional life is a big achievement and very satisfying for me. We live in the era of significant advancements in adult psychiatry and can use these advancements to help others.
Community involvement
I am involved in charity organizations.

In my free time I enjoy gardening, hiking, fishing and playing soccer and basketball with my kids.
