Philosophy of care

All patients deserve to have a voice and be heard. I have been a patient and understand the value of communication, education and shared decision-making in building clinician/patient trust and providing compassionate care. I now more fully appreciate the patient perspective, and my personal experience has changed the way I practice.

Why I entered medicine

I pursued a medical career after being inspired by health care workers in my family. I had an interest in the sciences and a focus on helping others, so medicine seemed a natural choice. That led to a broader understanding of the impact each health care team member can have on a person's life, as well as the important role physician assistants play. I am grateful to be part of this profession!

Community involvement

I am involved with the Lehigh Valley & Berks American Heart Association chapter and was named the Lehigh Valley & Berks Go Red Woman of Impact in 2022. I am also an advocate and volunteer with the SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndrome) Foundation and facilitate and participate in an online support group for people living with genetic arrhythmia syndromes.

Personal interests

I enjoy reading, walking with my dogs, yoga, cycling on my e-bike, traveling and spending time with my husband and family.
