Philosophy of care

My philosophy of care revolves around listening to the patient. Not just hearing, but attentively listening to what they are telling me. I then use that information to develop an understanding of the cause of their problem, and discuss those findings in detail with the patient. If it is a condition amenable to our type of care, I will offer a treatment trial. I will also discuss all other treatment options, and the patient will decide. Lifestyle modifications and appropriate forms of exercise and activity are always addressed.

Why I entered medicine

I had a low back injury while playing high school football at age 14. My pediatrician, without completing an examination or evaluation, recommended I stop playing contact sports. Wanting to continue athletics, particularly football, I convinced my mother to take me for a second opinion. She brought me to her chiropractor and, after a thorough exam and a few treatments, I was back on the field in two weeks and played through college. Being physically able to do something that I really wanted to do with the help of chiropractic care is why at 14 I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor.
