About Samantha R. Upton
Philosophy of care
I am passionate about promoting health in part by enabling you to take control of yours. Using an educational and holistic approach to your care, I help you create a plan that fits your lifestyle and meets your goals.
Why I entered medicine
I became interested in health care in high school as a hospital volunteer. My career started in nursing because I was interested in the human body and its disease processes, and desired a high level of patient interaction. After working with various inpatient populations, I decided to advance my education and move to the outpatient field as a nurse practitioner.
I have been involved in nursing education, teaching clinical experiences at several local colleges. I have also participated in a medical mission trip to South Africa. I hope to become further involved in our community to serve the people of the Lehigh Valley.
In my free time I enjoy being with family and friends. I like cooking, baking and exercising – particularly walking and jogging with my dog, Sophie. I enjoy traveling and love to see and learn about new places.
