About Sandra R. Kowalski
Philosophy of care
It’s important for the patient and the provider to work together. It’s my job to establish goals for patients, guide them and make recommendations to help them achieve their goals. It’s up to the patients to buy into the plan, make the necessary lifestyle changes and follow through.
Why I entered medicine
Since high school, I found nursing to be a fascinating profession. As a nurse practitioner, I feel privileged to have a say in the medical decisions that affect the health of patients. I enjoy caring for all patients, but there is a special place in my heart for the elderly. You can learn so much from their experience. Caring for the elderly has helped me become a better provider. They taught me that when you know about a patient’s past, you can provide the care they need in the present.
I like to stay active. I go to the gym regularly and walk my dog, a rescued mutt. I also enjoy kayaking on the Schuylkill River and reading on my Kindle.
