Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill Nutrition & Wellness Center provides individual nutrition counseling and group classes. In this outpatient program, clients work with registered dietitians to help manage their lives and disease processes through a healthy approach to eating and lifestyle.

  • Pediatric Create Your Weight
    Pediatric Create Your Weight is a weight management program developed by registered dietitians certified in Pediatric and Adolescent Weight Management by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. In this eleven-week program, our registered dietitians work closely with parents to teach children to maintain a healthy weight, have confidence in their food choices, and make lifestyle changes that will keep their bodies healthy for life. Class includes child-friendly activities in an upbeat, supportive environment and a one-on-one session with the dietitian.
  • Adult Create Your Weight
    Adult Create Your Weight is an adult weight management program developed by registered dietitians utilizing evidence-based research and guidelines from the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. This twelve-week program will help you to improve your eating habits, lifestyle, and physical activity in order to meet your weight management goals. Class includes “The Appetite Awareness Workbook” and a one-on-one session with the dietitian.

Our outpatient medical nutrition therapy program is designed for people living with diabetes or cancer, patients recovering from a heart attack, expectant mothers, and individuals who would like to lose weight, lower their cholesterol and blood pressure, or simply feel better.

Expert Nutrition Counseling

During your first visit with one of our registered dietitians, we'll review your medical history, current eating habits and personal wellness goals, and then develop a personalized nutrition plan that's right for you. Our goal is to help you make gradual, long-term changes in your eating habits and lifestyle, providing encouraging support and advice along the way.

You'll learn how to read food labels, modify recipes, and make smarter choices when planning meals, grocery shopping, and eating out. You'll find answers to your questions about fad diets and weight-loss myths. And you'll understand the importance of physical activity, portion control, and balanced meals in meeting and maintaining your health improvement goals.
