The adult behavioral health program provides a comprehensive treatment setting for patients by offering a variety of treatment approaches including group, individual and family therapies, diagnostic and evaluation services, educational programs, activity therapies and medication.

The 36-bed secure unit features private and semi-private rooms, lounge, dining room, activity therapy room and other common areas. Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary treatment team directed by a psychiatrist. The team consists of registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, patient care social workers, psychologist, mental health technicians, activity therapists and aides.

The main objective of inpatient behavioral health is to provide a climate of hope to individuals as they work through their crises and return to their homes, their families and their communities. Patients are admitted to this program by licensed psychiatrists. They are often referred to the unit by physicians, community agencies, other hospitals, other professionals or community members, clergy, family, friends and by self-referral.
