About

Philosophy of care

I'm an advocate for prevention. I think changing your lifestyle to lower your susceptibility to disease is preferable to treating it after the fact. Often times, treatment can be too late or have longer-term effects, so I prefer to take a more proactive approach. I really do want to help and understand what people are going through, whether I see them in a hospital or bump into someone in a grocery store. I'm easily approachable and, fair warning, may crack a corny joke or two.

Why I entered medicine

I grew up in a family that was in the medical field, and along with their influence and my desire to help people, I knew I was going to be a physician. My father was a physician, and my mother was a nurse.

Community involvement

I have worked to promote stroke awareness in the local community.

Personal interests

I like to read and keep up on current events. I also like to stay active with table tennis, running and housework.
