Lehigh Valley Hospital(LVH)–Pocono will administer free seasonal flu vaccinations for ages 6 months and older at Stroudsburg Middle School, 207 Mountaineer Drive, Stroudsburg, on Saturday, Oct. 9, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Supplies are limited and will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. Those 65 and older will be offered the senior vaccine.
Getting a flu vaccine is more important than ever this year because it can reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization and death. Getting a flu vaccine can also reduce the burden on the health care system responding to the COVID-19 pandemic and save medical resources for care of COVID-19 patients.
“Keeping our community safe and healthy is our top priority, so we are happy to be able to provide this free health service. We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity,” says Elizabeth Wise President, Lehigh Valley Hospital–Pocono.
Adults and children (age 2 and older) in the vehicle are required to wear a face covering. For more information and to complete the necessary consent form, visit LVHN.org/flushot or call 888-402-LVHN (5846).
