Clinical Trial: Cancer

COG ALTE07C1 Childhood Cancer Outcomes Study (PRO00001283)

Full Name

COG ALTE07C1: Neuropsychological, Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Outcomes in Children with Cancer

Description

All participants on this study will be given a set of tests called neuropsychological tests. The tests will be used to learn about the participant's neuropsychological and behavioral functioning (for example: thinking, learning and remembering). While the participant is taking the assessments, the participant's parent (or another person who knows the participant well) will fill in answers to a set of written questions. The tests used in this study are not being used to evaluate a child's intelligence. Rather, the assessments are used for research to determine effects of the treatment. All participants will have 3 testing sessions, each lasting about 1 hour. The first assessment will take place around 9 months after the participant was diagnosed with cancer. The second assessment will take place around 30 months after the participant was diagnosed with cancer. The last assessment will take place around 60 months (5 years) after the participant was diagnosed with cancer.
