The timeline for the LVHN hiring process varies depending on the position and the number of applicants. The search includes application review, interviews, reference checks, background screenings and a complete physical conducted by our employee health services department.
As part of your new hire clearance process, you’ll be required to be medically cleared. This assessment will include a physical exam and review of your medical history, drug and alcohol testing, collection of immunization documents and/or laboratory testing to confirm immune status.
So that we can provide an excellent experience for you throughout the hiring process, please bring the following to your medical assessment:
1. Your prescription bottles
2. Immunization records: Include MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, TDAP, COVID, Current Season Influenza
3. Tuberculosis records if you ever tested positive or have history of latent tuberculosis disease: Provide documentation of chest X-ray within past three months and documentation of prophylactic consultation and treatment.

After freshman year, students are invited to join LVHN as Nurse Extern I. Orientation sessions are held in May, June and December. After sophomore year, students transition to Nurse Extern II and explore interests through shadowing opportunities in specialty areas.
