About
Philosophy of care
As an emergency physician, I have the unique opportunity to see patients at every stage of life and from a variety of backgrounds who may be dealing with an acute or chronic illness. Each one deserves compassionate care, especially in the emergency department setting. I will work with you and your family to identify all concerns, goals and treatment preferences. I will encourage positive health-related behaviors and provide education on areas of improvement.
Why I entered medicine
I entered emergency medicine to help improve the health and well-being of individuals experiencing acute medical illnesses. I enjoy the fast pace of the emergency department, procedures, ultrasound and working with patients toward the best possible outcome.
Community involvement
Prior to medicine I was a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Earlysville Volunteer Fire Company in Virginia. I also have volunteered with the ASPCA and the Charlottesville Free Clinic.
Personal interests
Outside of work I enjoy spending time outdoors, playing with our dog, going to the gym, learning new songs on the piano, playing video games and traveling.
