Caring for an elderly parent or relative can be challenging. That’s why Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is partnering with several community organizations for the Aging Parents Fair, a free event Wednesday, Jan. 18, from 3-7 p.m. at the Health Center at Trexlertown. The fair will offer a number of resources for those caring for an aging parent or relative.

“Often families with aging loved ones are ill prepared when emergencies happen,” says Kate Huck, Administrator, Post Acute Strategy and Development, LVHN. “Planning for the future with your parents or loved ones is important, but the event will also have resources available if you have an immediate need.”

While Huck says there is no need to bring medical records or histories to the event, she suggests preparing a list of questions. Registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome as well.

Help is available

The event is open to anyone who is caring for an elderly parent or relative and those who just want to be prepared for the future.

LVHN resources on-site for the fair include:

Other community partners include:

  • Lehigh County Veterans Affairs
  • Lehigh Valley Active Life senior centers
  • Elder care attorney
