Insurance coverage for COVID-19 testing

Before getting a COVID-19 test, it is important that you verify and update your insurance information. Review this FAQ about insurance coverage for COVID-19 testing.

COVID-19 pre-screenings

If you think you have COVID-19 or may have been exposed to someone who does, stay home. We are providing COVID-19 screenings online and by phone. You must be in the state of Pennsylvania to receive screening due to medical licensing regulations:

  • Nurse line: 888-402-LVHN (5846), option 4 
  • ExpressCARE Video Visit: Visit MyLVHN.org or open your MyLVHN app. Tap on the menu, then select “Schedule ExpressCARE Video Visit.” 
  • Complete an E-Visit (detailed questionnaire visit submitted to a clinician) by visiting MyLVHN.org or your MyLVHN app. Tap on the menu, then select “E-Visits".
  • Contact your primary care doctor or clinician: Call or visit MyLVHN.org or open your MyLVHN app. Tap on the message, select “Send a message” and follow the prompts. 

We want to screen you via these technologies so that you remain in your own home and only need to leave if testing is needed. This screening helps reduce the spread of COVID-19.

During the screening, our medical professionals will determine if you have COVID-19 symptoms and if you should receive testing. If needed, you will be directed to a COVID-19 testing location. The COVID-19 test detects active disease and cannot determine if you have been exposed. You must have a script (prescription) in order to receive a COVID-19 test at our testing sites.

If you have a medical order to receive a COVID-19 test in preparation for an upcoming procedure, and you do not have any symptoms of illness, read our pre-procedure COVID-19 testing guidance.

COVID-19 testing is available throughout the region at select LVHN locations and all HNL Lab Medicine locations.

Your COVID-19 test results

LVHN makes it convenient to view your test results, so you can focus on feeling better. After your COVID-19 test, there’s no need to wait for a clinician to call you. You can view your test results and quarantine instructions as soon as they are available on the MyLVHN patient portal. If you receive positive test results, an LVHN colleague will reach out to you with guidance. Should you have questions, you can send a message to your doctor or clinician through MyLVHN or call 484-273-4368.

MyLVHN can be accessed from a computer (at MyLVHN.org) or through the MyLVHN mobile app (available for Apple or Android devices). It allows you to schedule appointments, pay bills and review your medical information all in one place.
