Care for Burns

Our Regional Burn Center is one of the nation’s most advanced burn centers, and is one of 44 burn centers nationally verified by the American Burn Association and American College of Surgeons. Every year, we care for more than 600 adults and children with serious, even live-threatening burns – three times the number of patients than the average burn centers sees.

Our Regional Burn Center has a dedicated, full-time medical staff that uses the most advanced burn-care technologies and reconstructive surgical techniques. Our newly expanded facility provides the latest in patient safety, privacy and comfort. All patient rooms are private and feature state-of-the-art infection control. Plus, loved ones are welcome to visit 20 hours a day.

Our scar management program offers the latest techniques to limit cosmetic and functional disabilities, and an image enhancement service that offers tattooing and instruction on makeup techniques for burned skin. Our Burn Recovery Center offers follow-up outpatient care for patients after their hospitalization and for people whose burns are less severe. Throughout the care process, patients receive the emotional support they need from our social workers and through our burn survivor support groups.
