Mammograms
Mammograms (X-rays of the breast) are the most effective screening tool for detecting breast cancer. While mammography involves a small amount of radiation exposure, it is completely safe and less than you would receive during a chest X-ray.
If you are age 40 or older and haven’t had a mammogram in over a year, you do not need a prescription to set up an appointment at any Lehigh Valley Health Network location throughout the region. The mammogram itself only takes about 20 minutes, making it easy to schedule it around your daily routine.
