Our surgeons are adept at the latest techniques, including robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. They also have vast expertise with very complex procedures, including the Whipple procedure for the treatment of pancreatic cancer.
When new advances in radiation therapy become available, we are often the first in the region to offer them. One example is SpaceOAR®, which helps reduce side effects in men undergoing radiation therapy for prostate cancer. This approach uses drugs that disrupt molecules within cancer cells to keep the cancer from growing. We are one of only two centers in the region taking part in TAPUR (Targeted Agent and Profiling Utilization Registry), a national study that is advancing cancer care through the use of targeted therapies.
