*The number of cigarette packs smoked per day multiplied by the number of years smoked
Lung cancer screenings are done with low-dose computed tomography (CT) scans. During the scan, you will lie on a long table and stay very still while a machine takes pictures of your lungs. You will be asked to briefly hold your breath a couple of times. It only takes a few minutes and is completely pain-free.
To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:
*The number of cigarette packs smoked per day multiplied by the number of years smoked
...or have quit in the last 15 years
Lehigh Valley Health Network offers these quick and painless screenings at locations across the region.
