Immunomodulation in Pancreas Cancer: The Role of Vaccines
Kevin Soares, MD, hepatopancreatobiliary surgeon at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, presented the 20th Annual Patt Endowed Lectureship in Oncology. During his presentation, "Immunomodulation in Pancreas Cancer: The Role of Vaccines," Dr. Soares explained the role of immunomodulators in the treatment of pancreatic cancer. He also discussed the action of mRNA vaccines in the oncology setting.

Demystifying Transplant and Cellular Therapy; On the Crossroads of Immunology and Oncology
Hematologist Amir Toor, MD, Medical Director, Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program, Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute, presented the 19th Annual Patt Endowed Lectureship in Oncology. During his presentation, "Demystifying Transplant and Cellular Therapy; On the Crossroads of Immunology and Oncology," Dr. Toor explained the immunological basis of hematopoietic cell transplantation and graft-versus-leukemia effects, and also discussed the mechanism of action of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell, bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) and T-cell receptor (TCR) transduced immune effector cell therapies.
