Hematologist Amir Toor, MD, Medical Director, Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program, Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute, presented the 19th Annual Patt Endowed Lectureship in Oncology. During his presentation, "Demystifying Transplant and Cellular Therapy; On the Crossroads of Immunology and Oncology," Dr. Toor explained the immunological basis of hematopoietic cell transplantation and graft-versus-leukemia effects, and also discussed the mechanism of action of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell, bispecific T-cell engager (BiTE) and T-cell receptor (TCR) transduced immune effector cell therapies.
