About

Philosophy of care

I believe all patients have a right to capable and competent care from a knowledgeable and well-trained clinician. I also believe all patients deserve compassionate care without regard to race, religion or gender identity.

Why I entered medicine

I entered medicine out of a desire to understand the human body and treat people with serious illnesses. I began as a podiatric surgeon, performing foot and ankle surgery for several years. I left medicine for a while to study law – another lifelong interest I have. I returned to medicine when someone I care about became ill.

Community involvement

I perform pro bono legal services and make regular trips to Philadelphia to hand out envelopes with money to individuals experiencing homelessness.

Personal interests

I enjoy swimming, kayaking and bicycling. I am a black belt who is now too old to fight, but I regularly practice my katas. I also am teaching myself to speak Spanish and enjoy reading novels in Español.
