Job Duties
- Designs and instructs fitness routine courses.
- Teaches proper form for exercises and maintains control of the class.
- Assumes the responsibility for setting up before class and assists members before and after class with set-up, preparation, issues, and concerns.
- Provides a safe and effective group exercise program in a physiologically sound format that takes into consideration the individual needs and limitations of participants.
- Works as a team player and maintains good relationships with other staff members.
- Instructs multi-fitness levels of students in a group fitness format.
- Ensures that safety standards are met and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
- Assists group fitness participants, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to teach group fitness classes and cater to different fitness levels.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in exercise physiology, health, or physical education.
- Understanding of human anatomy
- Ability to correct form and provide modifications and/or progressions to exercise
- Confidence with public speaking
- Flexibility with scheduling
- Ability to cover various class types

Physical DemandsLift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
