Dr. Hagstrom is Chair of Pediatrics at LVHN and Physician in Chief of Lehigh Valley Reilly Children's Hospital. He is board-certified in both pediatrics and pediatric hematology-oncology. He joined LVHN in 2013. Prior to that he was an associate professor in pediatrics at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, and division head of hematology-oncology at the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Dr. Hagstrom has a Master of Science degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University. He received his medical degree from the University of Vermont and received his general pediatric and pediatric hematology-oncology training at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has a special interest in bleeding disorders and congenital anemia, and has been involved nationally and internationally in efforts and organizations to improve the care of people with bleeding disorders and children with hematological disease. He also has a special interest in childhood leukemia.
