Matthew M. McCambridge, MD, MHQS, CPHQ, CPPS, is Lehigh Valley Health Network’s (LVHN) Senior Vice President and Chief Quality, Patient Safety and Acute Care Continuum Officer. He oversees quality, patient safety, infection control, infection prevention, radiation safety, regulatory, accreditation and inpatient value-based care at all LVHN inpatient locations. He works closely with many LVHN leadership teams to drive improvement and has several active initiatives in the broad areas of safety, experience and value-based care. 

Dr. McCambridge earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from the Johns Hopkins University in 1988 and his medical degree from Georgetown University in 1992. He then entered the United States Army, completing his Internal Medicine Internship and Residency, and then Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowships, all at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He completed his training in 1998. He then served at Womack Army Medical Center and with the 82nd Airborne Division both at Fort Bragg, N.C., from 1998 to 2003 before returning home to eastern Pennsylvania.

In 2003, Dr. McCambridge started at LVHN as a staff physician. He served as President of the Medical Staff from 2008 to 2010 and the Lehigh Valley Auxiliary Chairman for Critical Care from 2006 to 2014. In 2017, he completed his Master’s in Health Care Quality and Patient Safety at Northwestern. He became LVHN’s Chief Quality and Patient Safety officer that same year.
