Focused Excellence Geriatric Surgery Verification

LVH–Cedar Crest was awarded the Focused Excellence Geriatric Surgery Verification (GSV) after proving its commitment to surgical excellence for older adults. 

The GSV program improves surgical care and outcomes for older adults by promoting patient- and family-centered care, encouraging collaboration and facilitating implementation of evidence-based practices. The program focuses on the overall health goals of older adults and ensures geriatric-friendly surgical rooms, which improves quality of life for older patients by prioritizing patient function and independence, and reducing complications like the risk for delirium and confusion.

The verification is ongoing; LVH–Cedar Crest and its surgical team is, in compliance with GSV standards, required to submit an annual report attesting to our hospital’s compliance with all applicable standards.

As a participant of the GSV program, LVH–Cedar Crest has also earned the distinction as an American College of Surgeons (ACS) Surgical Quality Partner. This means LVH–Cedar Crest is committed to the highest standards of surgical care.
