Schuylkill CHNA 2016
Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) data collection and analysis process for Schuylkill County was facilitated by a steering committee comprised of Lehigh Valley Hospital–Schuylkill representatives as well as community members. Their work revealed 39 distinct community needs and issues.
Schuylkill CHNA 2016: Improvements from 2013 to 2016
Health areas that improved between the 2013 Schuylkill CHNA and 2016 Schuylkill CHNA included an increase in the number of pregnant women who self-identified as non-smokers, and a decrease in breast cancer mortality.
Areas to improve
Some critical areas need to be addressed in Schuylkill County, including:
- Improving mammogram screenings
- Reducing drug-induced mortality
- Reducing suicide
- Reducing mortality related to mental and behavioral disorders
