About

Philosophy of care

As a nurse practitioner, I provide patient-centered care and acknowledge everyone’s unique physical, emotional and cultural needs. Compassion and empathy make up the core of my approach. I am committed to open communication, active listening and mutual respect. I build my patients’ trust and empower them along their health care journeys. I enjoy lifelong learning and continually work on sharpening my own skills to deliver the highest quality care.

Why I entered medicine

A desire to make a meaningful impact on people's lives led me into the medical field. Every person deserves access to quality health care, and I am committed to contributing my knowledge, skills and empathy to help them get it. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I was a surgical ICU nurse and cared for patients during the most difficult times in their lives. I enjoyed being able to provide not only physical but also emotional support to them. I am immensely proud of what I do and could not imagine a different path for myself.

Personal interests

I love to read and travel. In my spare time I can usually be found with a book in my hand. However, my favorite thing to do is spend time with family and friends. My son and daughter keep my husband and me very busy, and we love taking trips together. I love the beach and anywhere warm, but also love a crisp fall day. I also enjoy spending time with my two dogs, Zeus and Nala.
