Many patients and families make a special tribute gift to LVHN as a way to honor the memory of a loved one or to show appreciation for the care provided to a friend or family member. This act of kindness and generosity has a lasting impact for future generations, and is a wonderful way to pay tribute to someone who made a difference in your life, or in the life of someone you love.

The Office of Philanthropy at LVHN ensures that the honoree or the family of the honoree is notified of all gifts made in the individual's honor. Should you wish to include in lieu of flowers information in an obituary, please include wording stating the following:

  • The name of the individual for whom the gift is in memory of
  • The chosen department that should be the beneficiary (hospice, emergency medicine, etc.).

Sample language for an obituary may read:

In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of John Doe may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice at Lehigh Valley Health Network and addressed to: Lehigh Valley Health Network, Office of Philanthropy, P.O. Box 1883 Allentown, PA 18105
