Position Specifications:
The Behavioralist will be responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating the behavioral medicine experience and contributing to the curriculum of the Schuylkill Rural Family Medicine Residency program.  This person will oversee educational experiences related to behavioral medicine for residents and faculty.  They will also engage in scholarly activity as it pertains to behavioral medicine for the department.  The Behavioral Integration Associate will be employed for 24 hours per week in this role with an opportunity to work an additional 16 hours by providing counseling services to patients in a Lehigh Valley Physician Group clinical practice.


Minimum:  Experience in clinical counseling and /or supervision and enthusiasm for teaching medical learners.  Experience working with patients with trauma, family systems, and/or addiction.

Preferred:  Experience in GME teaching.  Experience in scholarly work, including research methodology and publications.  Experience working with patients with addiction.       


Doctoral level psychologist, counselor, social worker, or public health specialist (PhD, PsyD), or Masters with experience in Family Medicine education in behavioral counseling.


Training in behavioral health counseling. Additional experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:  trauma, family systems, and/or addiction counseling is preferred.


Valid current psychology license, counseling, social worker, or medical license for Pennsylvania.  Stays current with appropriate state, institutional, departmental, professional certifications, CME requirements and institutional eLearnings.

                                             State addiction credentials preferred (CAADC)
