Summary

Works closely with patient navigators, clinicians, hospital staff, referring physicians, and insurance carriers while providing administrative and scheduling support throughout the practices.

Job Duties

  • Obtains all necessary information required to maintain provider schedules.
  • Maintains overall coordination of provider availability to cover services as required by the practice including office hours, in-patient and out-patient, scheduled meetings and conferences, and vacation or time off.
  • Monitors and updates schedule throughout the day and distributes changes to all affected parties.
  • Anticipates patients’ expectations and educational needs; understands basic requirements for all procedures performed to be able to answer basic patient inquiries or to direct the inquires to the appropriate area or person.
  • Monitors use of scheduled time and monitors schedule for conflicts.
  • Updates patient charts and electronic health record information with pertinent patient and insurance information.
  • Attends and participates in scheduled contract, committee, and all-staff meetings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2 years Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and timely.
  • Computer skills and word processing proficiency.
  • Knowledge and working use of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree
  • 4 years Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of physician practice scheduling software

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
