“This support group celebrates the individuality of every child while offering parents and caregivers a circle of empathy, resources and encouragement,” says Jillian Ralph, pediatric occupational therapist with Lehigh Valley Reilly Children’s Hospital. “Whether you’re navigating school systems, exploring therapies, or simply looking for someone who understands the ups and downs of raising a neurodivergent child, this group is designed to be a haven of support. Together, you’ll learn, grow and advocate – not just for your children, but for yourselves as parents, too.”
Parents and caregivers of children with suspected or diagnosed conditions such as autism, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, developmental delay or intellectual disabilities, are welcome to join. Sessions are held bi-monthly – on the first Monday (virtually) and third Monday (in person) of every month.
“When a child is diagnosed with a neurodivergent condition, there is a grief and relief for parents and caretakers,” Ralph says. “Beyond building a community, this support group is here to help the parents and caretakers of neurodivergent children care for themselves because they need support, too. If the caretaker isn’t being supported the way they need to be, they can’t support their child the way they need to be either.”
